A Regency style kingwood and satinwood banded sofa table by Arthur Brett inlaid with boxwood and ebony stringing, with two frieze drawers flanked by satinwood lozenges, one drawer stamped 'Arthur Brett' to the interior, on end supports and splayed legs terminating in brass caps and castors, 151cm wide x 61cm deep x 70.5cm high, (59" wide x 24" deep x 27.5" high.

Superb figuring, mahogany substructure.  Beautiful light faded patina.

John Brett started production of hand made furniture in 1817 and the firm has developed and continued to make fine furniture in the best tradition of craftsmanship for 190 years.  This sofa table was made around 1950-60, but is indistinguishable in its exquisite quality from the very same design made in the nineteenth century.
