Spelter figures after Julien Causse 1863 - 1914. Single spelter Art Nouveau figures have found their way into some famous collections such as An Ice Maiden, height 23 x 0 in.
Masterly French carved wood sculpture with great charm. She stands coyly leaning on a flowering stump clad in flowing drapery, offering fruit with a seductive and enigmatic rosy cheeked face.
Solidly constructed, classical, with stylish lines. These very comfortable armchairs are from the 1920s. The maker is not known but there may a Russian influence in the design.
